Underwear tips for thrush sufferers
Vaginal thrush is an infection caused by a yeast called Candida. This organism thrives in warm, damp, airless environments, which is why the vagina is vulnerable. A bout of thrush isn't uncommon and can normally be treated effectively. But if you are prone to frequent thrush infection, then you can improve your chances of avoiding it by your choice of underwear.
Avoid underwear that does not "breathe", such as nylon. Cotton underwear is best.
Avoid clothes that are fitted around your crotch, such as very tight jeans. Dresses and skirts, with cotton knickers (or no knickers at all if you dare and it isn't too chilly!) are ideal.
Wear stockings instead of tights.
